Got the house plans back from the first round of reviews by PDS last week. I was expecting to get them back towards the end of January so getting the notification email was a surprise. On Saturday I held a conference with the engineer and the drafter to go over the changes.
Most of the comments are structural-related. It looks like additional drafting is necessary on the roof design as well as clarifying how the roof attaches to the walls. There also are a couple of changes from the fire reviewer (eg. move all smoke detectors closer to the bedroom doors) and some other minor comments here and there by the engineer. Overall, better than I expected.
Life is not simple. There’s also the grading plan, septic layout, fire sprinkler plan, and solar photovoltaic system plan. Tentatively submitting the grading plan tomorrow and the septic layout early next week. Those are the major-ticket items. I’ll submit the fire sprinkler and solar plans later.
