Drywall is Installed!

The drywall is done! The drywall contractor started around the first of November. About 3 days to hang the drywall, a couple days to mud and tape and then about a day to texture and another day to sand. The walls are now ready for painting!

It probably goes without saying but a lot went into getting to this point. There was HVAC (including bath and kitchen stove ventillation), plumbing, fire sprinklers, electrical wiring, insulation, and everything else that goes behind walls to be completed first. I hired out the insulation and the main HVAC unit installation but did the rest of the work myself over the last six months.

Living room.

Garage workshop. Woodworking, business side hussle, research area? 😉

Looking thru the hallwall arches towards the back door.

Foyer area

Making sure the shims around the windows are glued and screwed in place before the insulation is installed.

Pressure testing the fire sprinklers to 200psi. I was able to rent a pressure test pump from a local rental yard. The first attempt had quite a few leaks from around the test plugs because I hadn’t tightened them enough. The second try was flawless!

This little guy visited me a few times before the drywall went on. It was hard to get a good picture of him in the dark even with the flash. Probably a Myotis bat, either Western Small-Footed, Yuma, Arizona, or California type.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love the Father is not in him. And the world passeth away, and the lusts thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
