After the straw bale workshop last month, I decided to spend a little time doodling around with the design of a straw bale workshop / studio in Chief Architect. The support structure is post and beam on the exterior. The bales are side-stacked, which gives a finished wall thickness of around 18″. For the inside floor, I allowed an area of 9′ x 11′, which is small but large enough so that the wall thickness is not too much out-of-scale.
