I assembled the first wall frame for a short section in the workshop area on a hot afternoon. Much has been accomplished since then. Although not as much as I hoped, planned, or expected, it has been a lot. I doubt I’ll be completely finished by this time next year, but, Lord willing, it will be close.
Last year I spent some time over a few days making a mental list of every skill that I could think of that I learned or practiced during my land development process over the last 8 years. Everything from operating heavy equipment, trenching (even underground boring), installing the water system, concrete work, welding, to pulling a trailer, interfacing with subcontractors and suppliers, or managing laborers. I have been able to learn so much! God has blest me richly with an amazing opportunity.
With a project this size, I am running a marthon not a sprint, as one of my former project managers used to say. When you run long distance, you don’t run your fastest. It’s the steady pace minute-after-minute that brings you over the finish line. It’s the same with this project. The winning formula is steady day-by-day work interspersed with rest and occasional recreation. It is a big project and doing it smartly and in balance is vital.
After this manner pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
