The Front Door

Nice house door. This is a well composed entry. The inset door creates a sense of strength and shelter. The sconces on either side of the door give visual balance. The window above gives a welcoming touch. The shutters are not really functional, but they lend visual balance. The lack of visible window frames gives this house an old-world flair. Careful use of landscaping color balances the light house color and gives it visual depth. It all combines together; welcoming strangers or friends, or even yourself back home after a long day about. Perhaps the only thing this entry lacks is an extended cover to provide protection to people waiting at the door in rainy weather. Of course, if you are in a dry climate, that probably is not necessary.
